FR. Richard Champigny 1938-2025

Fr. Richard Champigny

We remember the life of Fr. Richard, a Catholic priest from St. Jude Catholic Church with the religious order, The Carmelites, The Order of the Brothers of the Blessed Virgin Mary of Mount Carmel.

Fr. Richard led the H.O.P.E. prayer group as its spiritual head. He devoted much of his priesthood to the major renewal movements in the Church, such as Marriage Encounter, Cursillo, and the Charismatic Renewal. Father was a great promotor of the Divine Mercy devotion, and kept music as a big part of his life and ministry.

Father Richard will be greatly missed by many people. He lived a dedicated and active Carmelite and priestly life for many years and we pray that he will rest in peace.

Favorite Scripture: First Letter of John, Chapter 4 verse 18:

“There is no fear in love but perfect love drives out fear because fear has to do with punishment and so one who fears is not yet perfect in love.”
